this was a crime against humanity, and the prosecution of that should fall to the ICC, imo. he should also be prosecuted federally for the myriad national security laws he violated. these crimes are as serious as it gets. we have to see justice

The Eighth Circuit is gutting the Voting Rights Act. DHS is ignoring laws passed by Congress. Trump’s nominating judges with zero experience but plenty of misogyny. And his unconfirmed pals are now “acting” U.S. attorneys. America: now with 100% less rule of law!
I would love to see many of these candidates prevail. We need more people with integrity and a sense of civic duty in Congress—especially if they oust feckless GOP members.

If there is a chance of saving the remnants of representative democracy we will have to do some things. Texas Dems are doing some things. Stand with them. Here’s a very good piece by @lonestarleft.com. www.lonestarleft.com/p/we-will-no...
#SCOTUS may not be directly responsible for what's happening right now in Texas.
But the Court's 5-4 2019 ruling in Rucho necessarily cleared the way for legislatures in at least some states to race to the bottom when it comes to maximizing partisan political advantage.

Rather than gather in their local synagogues to read the Book of Lamentations, as is customary on the fast of Tisha B'Av, a group of Israeli activists visited different sites of destruction and demolition – mostly Palestinian villages.

"The tablet was mentioned in a publication by esteemed Assyriologist Samuel Noah Kramer in the 1950s, though it was not fully studied until Matuszak’s recent research. The text conveys a tale of how the Sumerian storm god Ishkur was trapped in the netherworld, causing chaos on earth due to the lack of rain. Ishkur’s father Enlil, the king of the gods, summons a divine assembly and asks one of the gathered deities to retrieve Ishkur. No gods volunteer, but, surprisingly, a lone fox does. The fox slyly enters and maneuvers through the underworld on its journey, but the broken tablet unfortunately ends the narrative"
Wake up honey new Sumerian underworld myth just dropped, translated by the Assyriologist Jana Matuszak!

But most higher education is nonselective (i.e., they admit everyone), and a lot of it is community colleges.
