March is #WomensHistoryMonth. Across every sector of society, women have exemplified this year’s theme, “Leading the Change: Women Shaping a Sustainable Future.” This is particularly true in the social work profession, where women make up over 80% of the workforce.

Mr. Scott was an Assistant Professor & Director of Admissions at NYU Silver before joining the @cswe.bsky.social in 1968. Highlights of his illustrious 17-year career at CSWE include the development of the Minority Fellowship Program (MFP) for master’s & doctoral students.

As we elevate Black excellence, resilience, and progress, we pay special homage to the Black scholars and practitioners who have advanced the social work profession. These include Carl A. Scott (1928–1986).
