I knew she was angry her mother wouldn't allow her to go to college (I don't know why!) so like what a badass for a woman of her generation to still make a career as a journalist and librarian.
I always thought my grandma (b. 1924) was "just" a SAHM to her 6 kids and in retirement became a librarian, but I asked my dad about it a few years ago because I wondered how they afforded it and he was like "oh no she wrote for articles for various newspapers before she was a librarian."
