Corporate power is at the root of the climate crisis, exerting itself politically and economically over society and decision-making.

The interests of Shell, Chevron + TotalEnergies are represented by the #TNCLobby at the #BindingTreaty where we continue the struggle to #StopCorporateImpunity

In resistance against corporate power, we've taken action against #Trafigura in Geneva - a transnational corporation trading in raw materials, involved in large-scale corruption and #HumanRights violations in the Global South

We stand firmly in solidarity with those affected by corporate violations

Their presence is a shameful disregard for the countless human rights violations committed by TNCs, the lives lost and communities devastated as a result

Today in the inter sessional consultations of the #BindingTreaty to #StopCorporateImpunity:

• States continued expressing their positions on how to overcome tensions in the text of art 6 on prevention & 8 on liability.

Corporate impunity and the climate crisis are intertwined and rooted in a global system that values profit over people + planet

Corporate impunity means transnational corporations can destroy and exploit the environment + communities without accountability

We need a #BindingTreaty

Legal loopholes open the floodgates for transnational corporations to wreak havoc on the environment while violating human rights

With those affected, we're pushing for a strong #BindingTreaty that closes these gaps and secures access to justice for those on the frontlines against corporate power
