Yesterday we were in the Senedd for a marketplace event.
We chatted to Senedd Members from Plaid Cymru, Welsh Conservatives and Welsh Labour about our campaigns, the Environment Bill and asks for the 2026 Senedd election.
And we enjoyed touching base with other organisations too!
For the sake of our health and the environment, we must drastically reduce the amount of tiny particles circulating in our air— from burning wood and other sources.

Tonight is #CleanAirNight where we raise awareness about dangers of domestic burning. A fireplace burning 10lb of wood for an hour can emit 4300 times more cancer causing particulates than 30 cigarettes. We need to discourage people from domestic burning to protect our health
The extraction of peat for gardening and horticulture continues to damage wildlife and our climate.

This recent study on the levels of harmful chemicals like PCBs in Welsh otters is alarming.
Now we must listen to concerns of communities living near sites like Ty Llwyd in Caerphilly where Monsanto, dumped PCBs and ensure they are safe.

Ffos y Fran must be fully restored and made safe, as promised to the community – that means filling the hole. It does not mean leaving dangerous spoil tips in place and doing the bare minimum.
This is a matter of public safety and environmental justice.

This decision to build a small nuclear power station at Wylfa is deeply concerning.
SMRs are unproven technology. Nuclear is expensive and there is no safe storage for the waste.
Jobs are vitally needed but they must come from investment in renewables.

Diolch to everyone who came to our roundtable "Ensuring a healthy environment" and to Delyth Jewell MS for sponsoring it.
It was inspiring to hear from impacted communities and to share insights into how to make the Environment Bill strong enough to protect people and nature.
Residents must be relieved to hear Natural Resources Wales are objecting to the light touch remediation plan for Ffos Y Fran.
The company must be made to restore the site fully, as promised, for the safety and benefit of the local community.

Our investigation identified over 45000 potentially contaminated land sites in Wales but almost none are being inspected.
Councils need to have the funding and resources to identify, assess, and remediate contaminated sites.
