Juniper branch with a single blue berry and water droplets.

Walking early in the day is such a blessing.

Wall quilt with three whimsical penguins wearing scarves, hats or ear muffs. Quilt has light blue background with black inner border, red outer border.

Starting to hang the Christmas quilts—this whimsical penguin trio is made by my dear friend Jane.

I can never understand why children's books get left out of "great book" lists. The books we call "children's books" are really books written for an audience that includes children, but excludes no-one. They are books for EVERYONE - and if you exclude them, you miss the most important books of all!

People underestimate how much of making art involves having a little sit and doing a little think

Help me please.

I have been looking for a gaming account to follow on here for ages.

It posts retro screenshot of games, with the game quotes in them.

I can't find it and it's bugging me.

Mainly platformer, 8-bit, indie, 90s from what I remember.

Please help me.

None of us would have ever attempted that quilt—thinking we couldn’t do it—but we did it!!! Try it—very fun.

You’re not violating a reading rule if you opt not to finish a book that's not resonating with you. Life is finite and we thus have a finite number of books to read. Reading shouldn’t be a chore. You needn’t feel guilty for ensuring that your time reading is spent reading things that you love.

A stormy day at the beach with a seabird standing at the waters edge. Downpours can be seen from the line of clouds overhead.

Storms don't last forever, but they sure are beautiful while they're here. 🌦

A few, small (bookish) acts of rebellion & fuckery
*prioritize books by marginalized authors (pre-order their books, it sends a message that this is what we want)
*shop indie bookstores
*celebrate the achievements of marginalized creators
*read banned books
*support library programming and services

Blue Merle AussieDoodle standing on the edge of a lake.

She is gorgeous! Dolly’s mom is a red Merle Aussie and her dad is a great big red standard poodle. Genetics are amazing!

Author posing with blue/white/red quilt. Close up of machine quilting stitches of blue/white/red quilt. Smaller version of a blue/white/red patchwork quilt hung in a stairway.

This beautiful quilt is one I made with my quilting besties—it was a mystery quilt and each month we received instructions and a package of fabric. We got together once a month to stitch/laugh & support one another & this is the gorgeous result! Smaller wall quilt was made of leftovers. #quilting

Small table top pineapple quilt—black/tan/red centres. Small chihuahua asleep beside it for scale.

If you want to do something ridiculous, make a tiny pineapple quilt! Spencer the chihuahua mix is not impressed—

Quilt with unicorn blocks. Pastel flannels, hanging on a clothesline.

Made this quilt for my special niece who was unicorn obsessed! We were out for a hike and when we returned home she saw this hanging on our clothesline. She ran to it and asked who’s it was—once she knew it was hers she wouldn’t let go.

Did you know BlueSky only has 20 employees?

We would like to say a huge THANK YOU to those 20 warriors (who are working 24/7 to keep up with the incredible growth) for giving us a space to share.

We escaped hell to be here.

Thank you, @bsky.app & Jay Graber CEO (not a billionaire)
