Making some good progress on a short story! This one is about a hungry snake that uses fear and misinformation to sow division in a mouse colony with the ultimate goal of being invited into their sanctuary.
Any similarities that the story shares with the recent US election are purely coincidental.

He was smart enough to see what was happening and what might happen if things continued the way they were going. We’re in a similar position, seeing something terrible coming. But we don’t have almost 30 years to see if we’re right.
