A screenshot of a tumblr ask from an anonymous user. They write, “Your art always seems to touch me when I really need it - been so incredibly depressed for no discernible reason (so nothing seems to improve it), hard to feel much, but flipping through your comics finally got me to have a much needed cry. I love you. Thank you for everything you share”

A comic follows: "...MOMENTS EARLIER..." Emma is struggling to draw on her tablet. "ugh I'm having such a hard time drawing lately. everything i try to make always turns out so SHITTY." Emma yells, breaking her stylus, "AUGGHHH WHY DO I EVEN BOTHER MAKING ANYTHING???????????" Emma looks defeated, but is distracted by a notification on her phone. "what? a tumblr ask? what could anyone possibly have to say to a worm like me?" (tiny: Emma pauses to read and then cries)

thanks anon I needed that, i hope you’re feeling a little better

illustration inspired by Mary Shelley's novel "Frankenstein" showing the creature standing beside a tree on a hilltop.

"It was the wretch, the filthy daemon, to whom I had given life."

Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein" was published on this day in 1818 🫀

When did the game of darts become associated with pubs? We all know that in the UK if you want to play darts you head to the pub. But where did this association between pubs and darts begin?

BLOG POST: Dartboards and pubs go together, everyone knows that. But how long has that been the case? And, actually, how old is darts as a game? 🍺🍻

Notably Arc Raiders pairs you with other people who play in the same style that you do. So if you grief a lot you’ll be paired with griefers etc

Digital painting of a fairy with giant blue morpho butterfly wings and a faint halo, holding a lantern that attracts butterflies. Digital painting of a deer centaur. He has long snow white hair that drapes over his chest, goatee, and a pair of velvety black antlers with a blue-ish sheen. His centaur body is of a black stag with a white belly. and white spots sprayed across its back. On its back is also a pair of medium sized butterfly wings with blue markings and coloration. He is wielding a staff that's seemingly made of gnarled organic material, perhaps wood, and on its end is a pair of reptilian hands, holding a white crystal ball. There is a flurry of black and blue butterflies swirling around him. Digital painting of a centaur with unicorn horn on his forehead, and big butterfly wings. He has elegant hair and tail that is flowing in the wind. Digital painting of a fairy. He is wearing a white tunic/skirt, he is wielding a star wand, and he has giant morpho butterfly wings. He is sitting on the back of a white horse-rocking chair.

If you were going to buy an encyclopedia set as a gift for a young person growing up today, which one would you get? Contemporary or vintage?

*saying affirmations in the mirror* I am a big horse. I am a beautiful horse with powerful legs. I am fifteen hands tall. No one can catch me because of my powerful horse legs and wild nature. I have all the apples I want

Article screenshot:
Others are drowning, attempting sustained thought in environments engineered to prevent it. They sit with laptops open, seven tabs competing for attention, notifications sliding in from three different apps, phones vibrating every few minutes. They’re trying to read serious material while fighting a losing battle against behavioural psychology weaponised at scale. They believe their inability to focus is a personal failure rather than a design problem. They don’t realise they’re trying to think in a space optimised to prevent thinking.

I have worried about what I've seen as my own decreased ability to focus but this article has really shifted my thinking. It's so so interesting. aeon.co/essays/what-...

trying a style for a tarot deck. i wanted to illustrate my own cards for ages. let's see how this works out. #tarot #illustration #artsky #fantasy #horror

My photo shows the front of a warm-yellow coloured Minoan clay flask, hand painted in black with a frontally depicted octopus. The flask measures 27 cm (about 10.5 inches) in height. It has a short spout at the top with a small loop handle at either side. The octopus is swimming diagonally with its eight writhing, sucker-lined arms covering the whole surface of the flask. It stares out at the viewer with wide, almost cartoon-like eyes. Additional motifs include sea urchins, tritons, small rocks and seaweed. Minoan decoration depicting sea motifs is known by scholars as the ‘Marine Style’. The flask was excavated in 1903 at a Bronze Age settlement site at Palaikastro. The Palaikastro excavations, carried out between 1902 and 1906, were run by R. Bosanquet and R.M. Dawkins from the British School of Athens. The flask is part of the collections at Heraklion Archaeological Museum, Heraklion, Crete.

Marvellous 3,500 year-old Minoan clay flask decorated with a wide-eyed octopus 🐙❤️

I know it’s difficult right now, but I insist that you seek and enjoy beautiful things, even if it seems frivolous or irresponsible in the face of overwhelming horror. I want you to feed yourself artistically, spiritually, and literally, because you can’t Do The Work when you’re starving.

Pixel art text mode style picture of a tower standing by a cliff. The tower looks ancient and mossy, made of pinkish stone. Birds are standing on the building top. there is rocky platforms at its base as well as a little tree, some stairs and a character standing. The building got a lower entrance and a higher entrance leading to a higher level on the cliff on which a little building blends into the mountain.

The old tower
