Today is National Family Literacy Day. This year it seems more important than ever to get kids to read and to be curious so we have a future generation of intelligent and intellectually curious adults more likely to have empathy for those different from ourselves!

ICE is deporting US citizens

A smattering of Cook County Sheriff’s officers and Illinois state troopers stand between protesters and federal agents outside of the Broadview ICE facility.

If Secretary Noem thinks the Coast Guard needs modernization, she should start with the vessels and rescue gear that save lives, not a flying five-star hotel to help herself travel in style.

Because that’s not public service, it’s self-serving corruption.
