and the said dad all along was some depressed guy that comes with another depressed guy who look like he has his shit together but worse.

Also they dealt with gangs and supernatural beings

Jade's story is more centered around his partners but the way he is now is directly influenced by his parents' story

Originally just made Olive and Turquoise for the lols but absolutely fell in love with them and gave them their own story shjshsjd

My space pirate OCs have a lot of family dynamic.
Caleb (the human) adopted Simon (the blue dude) when he was a baby and tries to be stern with him, but doesn’t want to be like his own father. It gets more frustrating when Simon is being a little turd.

Little tardy to the party, but familial relationships, especially strained ones, are a huge focus in my comic.

A not insignificant part of the story and Kyara's personality, revolves around her relationship with her (deceased) mother Cathrine.

Cat died when Ky was at a young age, leaving her with an idealized version of Cat in her mind. Worst of all, she compares herzelf to this idealized image.

Ooh, I can actually talk about this one; Bridget and Alice Cheung are daughter and mother, and one of the central conflicts of my story is how Alice wants more for Bridget, where Bridget is dedicated to the whole "being a hero" thing.

Blaine's pigeon started off as a one-off doodle because I wanted to draw a cute pigeon, and it just became A Thing. He would appreciate overlooked or maligned creatures and dopey cute things. Now a passenger pigeon specifically. (Something something recently extinct animals)

Zuro has his snake companion, Boa! Her name's misleading, she's a large viper from their OG verse. An absolute grouch, she tolerates Zuro's presence & helps w/ his work as a venom specialist.

In other verses, Boa ranges from being Zuro's snake tail (as an Amphisbaena) or a harmless ball python pet.

Due to social isolation growing up, Dustan is a bit of a kindred spirit with animals, having spent much more time around them than with other people.

He finds socialising with people exhausting, but with animals he has nothing but time and patience.

Paul rescued Jerry, a white pica, from the clutches of a giant! After all it wouldn't have even filled his belly, and Paul tends to put his life in danger to rescue others. Since then Jerry is very protective of Paul and gets jealous when he shows other people affection 🤭 there is also more to him😏

I have a concept idea of animals having animal familiars and they get them at 1 years old by going through a mind journey to find them. The familiar is like a guiding light to ensure the animals live a good and healthy life

Ibari’s had a sentient mechanical snake that she’s used to see since she was a young girl. Though she hasn’t needed him (Rouberi) since gaining her sight, she still keeps him as a loving ally and friend.

Considering how many renditions he's been through, Vigil's wardrobe normally falls into one category: Business casual. If you'd wear it to a business luncheon or a night out with co-workers, that's 90% of his wardrobe (pending it fits the setting).

He likes looking his best while still being comfy.

it's retrospective, but Spike's scarf is the same scarf Narvoz used to wear before they had their first death and passed both their blade and said scarf to Spike. Narvoz's hair clip, however, is a momento they keep to remind them of the first thing Spike made for them when they lived together.

Evonne's non-human companion is Keidra, a dragon familiar that was granted to her when she took a part of Nurvureem's essence to become a drakewarden. He's grown from a medium drake to a large dragon and is Evonne's closest companion. They are one and the same.

Mace had stumbled upon the stray dog my accident. The dog was wary but didn’t act out like most creatures did to the Dhampir. So Mace offered the dog some food and both being outcasts, they remained friends ever since!
