I very clearly remember a couple YouTubers shitting on the return of the Mondasian Cybermen and calling them pathetic nostalgia bait.

The first couple episodes of the season were pretty explicit about the themes too!

I just watched people whose opinions I respected not understand the explicitly stated ideas.

It made me realize how much I was relying on others to think for me.

This was me as a young teen. I learned to think about these things for myself when a ton of YT channels were hating on Peter Capaldi playing The Doctor in Doctor Who.

I loved him from his first episode and saw the themes of the season which went straight over the heads of the YT Commentators.
