“Appears” is a rhetorical crutch we journalists really should be avoiding. It’s almost never necessary, it just adds a hedge to make your statement weaker. Just say his vision is “at risk”, that already communicates uncertainty.

Every now and then, it's worth reminding yourself that every single crisis of Trump 2.0 -- the economic downturn, the chaos in our cities, the rising health crisis, the foreign wars -- has been a direct result of their own actions.

If they'd done nothing at all, they'd be coasting comfortably.

The details here are horrific. They arrested her in Tennessee, jailed her for months, and eventually shipped her off to Fargo. She lost her home, her car and her dog. They eventually realized their mistake and put her out on the streets of Fargo on Christmas Eve. Could happen to any of us.

We've had a *very* Minnesota winter in upstate NY this year, like historic levels of cold and snow. Clearly it followed me here from Red Lake Falls!

I spent a lot of time thinking thoughts like "fuck, it looks like I'm never gonna get around to doing [x] after all." It's a big reason why decided to move back to NY once it was all over, as that was always one of those "we'll do it some day" things

"company town but the company is a giant hospital." I will say Mayo is a pretty great place to be as a patient, had absolutely no complaints about anything there. They run a very tight ship

So sorry to hear it, Charlotte. May his memory be a blessing

I absolutely love that place! Every time I went down to Mayo I swung by Quarry Hill to say hi to all the critters in the visitor's center!

it's so messed up in part because bile ducts aren't something anybody ever thinks about! I had no idea you could even get cancer there. I'm glad you are talking about it, more people need to know about it

It's all good, that's the kind of relationship we have! He gave me good-natured shit about it constantly but when push came to shove he 100% had my back when it came to support and flexibility

Crazy that U.S. planning for the Strait of Hormuz apparently boiled down to "that'll sort itself out, hopefully"
