This photo of a juvenile Red Sea clownfish tucked between the clear tentacles of a bleached sea anemone was a finalist in the 2019 Royal Society Publishing Photography Competition and won the Ocean Conservancy Photo Contest in the Human Impact category.

While the Red Sea was thought to be insulated from the impacts of climate change, BU researchers have found that extreme heatwaves have disrupted the important relationship between clownfish and anemones—a duo made famous by Finding Nemo 🐠
