Seems that, depending on the zeitgeist, views on creators can change (like the winds).

My take is outstanding works set themselves apart, while the view of the creator should not influence the esteem in which the creation is held.

It is a black and white matter to me.

Yes.

Truth is, this story truly touched me--it was later that I learned of the author himself.

But damned good writing is damned good writing.

Which begs the question: how are masterpieces to be viewed in light of the creator of a work?

That seems to be the question of our time.
