Over the last two years employees at the factory on the Wrexham Industrial Estate have taken on multiple fundraising efforts, including mountain climbs, bake sales and volunteering initiatives. Uninsured vehicle seized at Chirk car boot sale An uninsured vehicle was seized by North Wales Police at a car boot sale as part of a joint operation with Wrexham Trading Standards. As part of the initiative, officers from North Wales Police Wrexham Rural and local Trading Standards attended the Chirk Car Boot on Sunday, 10 August. While on site, police searched a linked vehicle under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act. The vehicle was found to have no insurance and was seized from the site. Crimestoppers launches campaign to tackle violence and abuse against women and girls in Wales A campaign has been launched to raise awareness of and tackle violence and abuse against women and girls in Wales. Newly released figures from Crimestoppers Wales show that 56% more reports linked to domestic abuse were made between April and June 2025 compared to the same period last year. Separate Welsh Government data shows that violence against women and girls has increased by nearly 40% in just five years.

At least one in 12 women in Wales is affected by violence each year, with the real number likely to be much higher.

Police-run bike safety sessions planned in Wrexham North Wales Police is urging motorcyclists to take part in its BikeSafe workshops, which run in September at venues across North Wales. The day-long sessions are designed to help riders improve their skills and reduce the risk of collisions. They include a morning of classroom-based theory, focusing on key causes of motorcycle crashes and possible solutions, followed by an observed ride where participants receive individual feedback. Workshops will take place on 7 September in Llay, 21 September in Colwyn Bay, and 24 September in Porthmadog. 13 days of bin strikes planned by union ‘over changes to working patterns and salary reductions imposed’ Bin strikes to take place in Wrexham over changes to working patterns and salary reductions imposed by the local authority, say Unite. In a statement this morning they said Unite members who work in the street scene operation team at Wrexham Council will strike from this month in a dispute over working patterns and reduced salary. The union say the planned strikes will take place on 23 and 30 August, 6, 13, 20 and 27 September, 4, 11, 18, and 25 October and 1, 8 and 14 November, while an overtime ban will also be in place during this time, adding "Should the dispute remain unresolved, Unite members are also considering further action to take place over Christmas, when households usually have more rubbish needing to be removed than usual".

The union say "Our hardworking members are not asking for extra pay, this dispute is all about protecting their agreed overtime renumeration and working hours. Wrexham Council cannot keep targeting lower paid staff and must roll back on these unfair plans and come back to the table."
