Just some guy hoping to reduce risk, avoid liability, and not take things too seriously. Mostly just Security Engineering and Homebrewing chatter. Tha Ghàidhlig glè beagan agam ach tha mi ag ionnsachadh. My thoughts, totes not employers. (he/him/e/esan)
Trust me. I know.

Even his introduction as Tyrol's confessor showed the undercurrent of disdain he felt for the very idea of humanity.
It's true! Seeing all those wraps made me set back up a scrobbler.

I'm still in Columbus (Ohio).

The sample came out nice. I would totally drink this. It's pale yellow, with some noticeable haze. There's a dry bite without being astringent and definite apple flavor.

A glass carboy full of cider. At the bottom is about 0.75" of spent yeast, dissolved solids, and other shit.
Last night's cool down seems to have done it! It's still super cloudy but look at all that sediment!
All that gunk down there can result in some off flavors in the final product. To help, I'm racking it into a clean container.

A glass carboy full of cider sitting outside on a brick patio. It's pretty dang dark.
Normally I'd use the basement beverage fridge, but it's actually pretty full now. Instead I'm going to naturally refrigerate it. The overnight temps are supposed to hit 40°F, which is a great start. Good night friend, let's see how you do.

Whelp. It's been a week and while there has been some sediment coming out the cider is still quite cloudy. I guess I should have actually chilled it first.

A single rose blossom poking through a gap in a privacy fence. Surrounding the open bloom are a handful of flower buds not yet opened. It appears to be a pine rose.
Working out here in a cool (~50°F) and 100% overcast day has been exactly what I didn't know I needed.
Plus! Look at this rose I found poking through the fence!
I've been putting off yard work for a while and finally forced it today.
Nothing overly exciting, mostly just fall cleanup. Things like pruning peonies, smooth leaf hydrangea, oak leaf hydrangea, and magnolia. Maybe attacking some viburnum and hibiscus hedges.
It's ... Been ... Wonderful.
