5⭐️ this book reminded me of myself in so many ways just I went through it in college, not hs. I would do anything for these characters😭 there were some actual jaw dropping moments I did not expect. and there's so much hope in this book. a true coming of age. go read it.

Pursuing publication is so masochistic, like why am I excited about a tiered rejection from The New Yorker 😭

If I had a nickel for every romance novel I’ve read that was written by a white author that featured a Latino character who served as a mouth piece for pro military sentiment, I’d have two nickels. Which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice in one month.

Found out earlier today that This Is Why They Hate Us was rejected by yet another UK publisher. Thought we had a chance with this one because it was a small progressive indie & I did a sensitivity read for them. At least I helped one of their white authors write a Mexican character from East LA 🙃

So after almost two years of genocide and after ignoring the Palestinian led boycott initiative, all it took for people to start boycotting was a rich white guy getting fired 🤡

Don't get me wrong it's a net positive but wow that really is liberal politics in a nutshell
