🔥 Hey NetPals! This week, we're excited to welcome William Thompson from the University of Vermont, who will talk about stochastic opinion dynamic models and share insights into finding (or not finding) your niche as a researcher.
📅 When: 17th Apr (tomorrow), 4pm UK time
Zoom: netplace.site
Networks, snow, tea, hot wine, science in an old monastery, friends in beautiful Québec City... What's not to love?!
We're looking for new friends and participants for the Complex Network Winter Workshop (CNWW) 2025. Follow the post for details and application link.
🚨 New paper on ArXiv:
“Uncertainty quantification and posterior sampling for network reconstruction”
TL;DR; We present an efficient method to sample the entire ensemble of possible network reconstructions that are compatible with an indirect observation, e.g. a dynamics.

Missed the NetSci deadline? No problem! Submit your work to the SINM Satellite at NetSci 2025! We have an amazing lineup of speakers so far, including Michael Schaub, Vince Lyzinski, and @gcant.bsky.social. Revised deadline is Feb 20. See sinm.network for details.
He does
Very satisfying. Congrats!!
1st post on bsky - about bsky! I was fascinated with academic starter packs and made an interactive network to see academic communities and how they connect - a map of knowledge! link to an interactive & searchable network: ketikagarg.github.io/blueSkyAcade...
We are thrilled to announce the merger of two key organizations supporting early-career researchers in network science: SYNS (Society of Young Network Scientists) and NetPLACE (Networks, PhD Life, and Complexity). Together, we are now NetPlace!
Excited to announce PANINIpy, a package for nonparametric inference with networks in Python! We go beyond community detection and network reconstruction to "MDL-ify" a range of unsupervised learning problems on graph data. Actively seeking contributions to new modules! joss.theoj.org/papers/10.21...
Or like, “community building”
