'Captain Morgan' of the Home Guard put the children through their paces as new recruits, and the bayonet dummies still haven't recovered... π

As it's World Book Day my personal recommendation is Jonathan Healey's 'The Blood in Winter', which tells the story of the countdown to the start of the English Civil War through 1641 and into 1642.
It reads like a very well informed thriller!

Some chums of mine are taking part in this WW2 mystery, family event at Fort Nelson over half term, with Time Will Tell Theatre.
I can't do it this year but last year's Victorian one was great fun: highly recommended!
