This time as a card battler, darker narrative, story focussed, amazing soundtrack!!

14. Dicey Dungeons

A roguelite with a focus on casting die or getting diced
Quirky, silly humor, surprisingly deep and the whole gameshow aesthetic is sweet.
Absolutely outstanding soundtrack

13. Drakengard

Honestly the less you know, the better the experience is lol
The gameplay is rough, but the Story is....
It's a Yoko Taro game

I was cursed with the eepy
Shackled by the cold
Woes of clocking in resonating
The girlrot manifesting
For the only panacea is comfy bed time

12. Resonance of Fate

Also known as End of Eternity.
Turn Based Action RPG (yeah that's a thing) with Steampunk aesthetic and guns instead of your swords and such.
The Tetris-esque world map is really fun and the humor and voice acting is top.
ALSO FASHION.

11. Rune Factory 4

My fave cozy farming sim with RPG elements.
Wholesome adventure, made me even a bit emotional.
Big recommend for something laidback to just get lost in the vibes.
"Oh I'll just do this thing before I--" paradox machine.

10. Slay the Spire

Every couple of weeks/months my soul gets obsessed with this game and all I can do is attempt higher ascensions

9. The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures

This game whips. No this is not the Four Swords from the GBA.
Held back by everyone needing a GBA and a link cable to the gamecube, if you got people together tho, absolute 10/10 coop adventure.
Also very addictive versus mode!

8. Mother 3

A happy and fun little game.
Probably one of the best games ever made.
The amazing music based battles, the quirky humor and 'no crying til the end'
I can't recommend it enough (It's not even that long for an RPG)

7. Slice & Dice

Ever since I found this gem on itch, I have it on every device. Super fun roguelite, pocket sized and aside from a certain card battling roguelite my choice for on the go!
Also a bajillion modes to gamble, I mean roll dice

6. Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate

I love modern monster hunter, I love old school monster hunter.
This game is the sweet spot inbetween.
There is something magical about the vibe for this one.
And how broken it can be, in an endearing way.
And the online lobbies were so sweet

5. Celeste

Everything about this game is peak, literally.
Great message, a lot of gameplay depth and many stwabebbies to collect
And yeah, trans rights are human rights btw

4. Pokemon Crystal

Yes, it's nostalgia. Yes, it has issues.
But my gosh, there is no month, where I don't do a nuzlocke or playthrough of crystal. Or any of the amazing enhancement hacks.
Gen 5 is the best, this is my comfort food

3. Phantasy Star Online Episode 1 & 2

Probably over 2000 hours playing an MMO offline only. Splitscreen coop led to so, so many hangouts with frens chasing the elusive special weapons
The ost gives me instant nostalgia

2. Xenoblade Chronicles

This RPG is lightning in a bottle. The most likable cast of characters.
Mechonis Field is prolly my fave ost from any videogame
Heropon very cool

1. Dark Souls III

My beloved. Comfort game. Prolly my most replayed game ever.
I can always go for another playthrough.
Fun to speedrun, fun to challenge run, fun to suffer.

(The further we get, the more surprises I have in store)
