If you just exile the fascists to their own well supplied colony the game tells you off in the end credits.
Fair. I think the tone of it is mainly what I'm talking about because the original game was pretty clear that the authoritarian stuff you do is bad and regrettable. This game seems to think the ideal ending is you doing 'best of both worlds' but in effect that means you do 30% of fascism.
The overwhelming majority of protests disperse with no looting and no one getting hurt.
In frostpunk 2, a housing district having a protest immediately displaces 1k+ people into -30c weather where they immediately start freezing to death. They also immediately start destroying infrastructure if it's an industrial district.
Sorry but I feel like maybe you haven't played the game I'm talking about because this is not analogous to what happens in that game.
Yeah basically lol. In the name of balance they've made it so you can 'should' be implementing like 30% fascist ideas
Well that's one way to solve it lol
People aren't always rational, but the idea that any congregation of discontent people would immediately start doing literal mass murder is... not accurate.
I actually like that they swung for the fences instead of just rehashing, but some parts of it do feel truly unhinged haha
In short, they have introduced people as crazy as real life fascists and tankies, and then the game chides you for not throwing them bones even when all their ideas are demented.
If you've only played FP1 this seems fine, but trust me FP2 is wildly different mechanically. The factions don't just want their needs met, they want shit like 'experiment on prisoners as punishment' and even if you have negligible crime they will still be mad if you don't let them.
"Aren't we all stronger together?" um idk, did I really need the guys that wanted to do medical experiments on prisoners and wanted the Clockwork Orange eye-holder things to be real
Sort of. There are egalitarian factions in Frostpunk 2, and they're even somewhat viable, but if you're too nice to them you instantly create a fascist backlash. I exiled the fascists to when they started a civil war, at which point the game admonished me for not making everyone get along.
Speedpaint for Siv, thank you so much!
There is no such thing as non-violent protest in this game. If you let them protest for more than a millisecond hundreds of people instantly start dying.
I'm playing Frostpunk 2 and someone needs to write an essay on how city-builders and empire strategy games are radical centrist propaganda. Like what do you mean if I don't physically crush this protest with violence they're going to destroy the coal plant literally keeping everyone alive.
I don't think I personally have a use for this but, artists: www.youtube.com/watch?v=6cqz...

Cheers!
Hah actually this sounds amazing though I think I have to watch it
Is the terrifying secret that they're sacrificing women to a vampire? But still, amazing
Hahahah that would be amazing
I think this is a very normal way to write but an absolutely insane way to read lol
They kill a kid at the start yeah, because she was feeding them ham from her sandwich. Nightmares about that one
