26.11.2025 08:21 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Theyβre tricky little birds. Iβm yet to see a male singing from the top of the bushes and catch it in an image. They always pop up and down so fast itβs like whack-a-mole with me having lots of lovely photos of empty gorse and heather π
25.11.2025 17:13 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Thank you Glen. I think theyβre quite cute birds, especially how they cuddle up and smooch.
25.11.2025 14:10 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0They are indeed. I need them to teach me their ways π
25.11.2025 12:50 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Lovely nuthatch Christian. Such pretty birds (despite their bossy nature) π
25.11.2025 12:22 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Thank you. Yes, the females are often overlooked too, but sometimes the details in their feathers is stunning.

Common Wood pigeon (Columba palumbus) in low-low key. One of the great things about common birds is that they are more used to human presence and give an opportunity to experiment with photographic styles. Besides which, as common as they may be theyβre often still beautiful. #birds

I took these in May during a very gloomy morning waiting for the Ospreys to move from their nest. #birds

24.11.2025 17:58 β π 36 π 3 π¬ 0 π 0A giraffe peaks at us while surrounded by green leaves. Only its neck and head are showing above the trees.
Hi there!
This giraffe took time out from munching on leaves to check us out for a few seconds. At over 5 meters tall, they eat the leaves that no body else can reach!
Taken in Kruger Park, South Africa

An African Fish Eagle flys in late evening light along a shadowed river bank. The sun highlights the rusty brown feathers and the striking white head and tail.
There are a lot of different eagle and hawk species in South Africa, but there was one in particular that I was hoping to see.
It was kind of hidden by branches, high in a tree , but then, this African Fish Eagle took off to check out the riverbank in the late evening light!

Beautiful shot Glen. Such strong animals.
23.11.2025 13:51 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0A bull African Buffalo crosses a river in Kruger park, South Africa. He is walking towards us and has quite large horns. He is carrying about a dozen red-billed oxpecker birds on his back. The oxpeckers are eating ticks and parasites off the buffalo and also acting as sentinels to warn the buffalo about approaching predators.
African buffalo are one of the most dangerous animals in Africa. They can way 900 kg and are apparently considered grumpy.
Iβd be grumpy too if I had to carry a bunch of yelling red-billed oxpeckers around all the time!
This bull was slowly eating his way down the Sabi River in Kruger Park, SA
