Yes, I'm not referring to accessibility in the formal sense. We created CoCalc's AI Assistant primarily to assist people in coding with Jupyter; it is largely a byproduct of that integration. We just happen to support LaTeX. It can be more efficient to generate templates because you can tailor them.
02.07.2025 21:58 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0The goal is to enable people to generate LaTeX formulas via prompt engineering (which is inherently more accessible than reading documentation on formatting). Not everyone knows how to write LaTeX, and it can be helpful to see examples. Why not generate an example with your own context?
02.07.2025 21:08 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Personally, I think AI makes LaTeX and scientific computing more accessible. Itโs simply another tool to be used in addition to the sort of tutorials you mention.
02.07.2025 20:06 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0We're working with the Journal of Fluid Mechanics to make papers interactive.
You can now click a link in a research article and immediately start playing with the authors' Jupyter notebooks and data in CoCalc.

It can be useful for people learning how to use LaTeX (so you can look at an example with the context of your choice).
02.07.2025 19:55 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0To help people less familiar with LaTeX learn how to format appropriately.
02.07.2025 19:54 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0The only thing I can mention is that you have to ask to do this in our LaTeX editor explicitly. Nothing is automatic.
02.07.2025 19:44 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Haha, considering we all have math backgrounds over here, we're probably with you on that, but it's just an example to reduce time thinking about writing the actual LaTeX syntax.
02.07.2025 19:41 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0The AI Assistant in CoCalc is pretty amazing for academic work. You can prompt it to write out a full, rigorous mathematical proof in LaTeX, and it just does it.

In CoCalc, you can now AI-generate a proof for the Fundamental Theorem of Calculus (and more!) directly in your .tex file.
Prompt the AI -> Get a formatted proof -> Done.

We've had an excellent time networking with people in downtown Seattle this week!
Managed to catch some startup demos with AI2 Incubator at AI House on Tuesday, and made it to the Quantum Forum yesterday evening hosted by Barclo, Qubits Ventures, and K&L Gates.

http-proxy is one of the oldest and most famous nodejs modules, and it gets downloaded around 15 million times a week. (And we've loved using it for years.)
Unfortunately, it is unmaintained!
Thus, introducing npmjs.com/package/http..., currently used in production on cocalc.com
