“Where International Law Goes to Die”: Mechanisms Blocking Justice for Journalists and Civil Society Since 2001, Israeli fire has claimed the lives of nearly 200 journalists—170 of them since the war on Gaza began. Yet, even in the most extreme cases, Israel has failed to hold anyone accountable.

On my end, I investigated why not a single one of these journalists’ deaths has led to an indictment. Through interviews and a review of internal documents, I found that the Israeli government has actively maneuvered to obstruct international investigations👇
