I did follow with: All the best to the journalists there still trying to do their jobs with integrity.
Should have canceled already when I went to The Contrarian but I’ve been trying to keep one foot in to spread out my sources and watch. Here we are.
Note I sent when I canceled WashPost today: Due to the recent decisions of Jeff Bezos to shut down any actual free expression and dialogue, eliminating the paper's long tradition of free American debate and opinion, I can no longer support this paper. I have found other, better sources.
We need poetry more than ever right now. I listened to Terrance Hayes read to a standing room only crowd last week and that gave me hope.
If she can do it, we can all do it.
Trying to put my attention in the right place today.
Good morning
a small poem
Moon in bed
refracted through the glass
a waxing moon appears split like a teacup
hovering over a curved saucer
we slide closer, nudge and laugh a little
aware that it’s a gift to be
tucked into bed and served a moon
a talisman for the day we must sleep ourselves towards
