With games it's kind of funny because most other art forms are old enough that you can try and argue about how "commercialism has overtaken the soul", but games have been commercial from the start! That's not inherently evil, obviously, but it's central to the form's struggle for identity.

Just a note, Drayano didn't make Radical Red, that one is by soupercell/Yuuiii.

We figure that someone mass produced these at some point, and they’re still floating around. Anyways the punchline is that, as a result, on multiple occasions we’ve dealt with people who buy these without doing much research, pop them into their GBA, only to be met with this:

So slightly more scrupulous sellers will sell 6-packs, instead of giving you the same game twice. So that accounts for 4, what about the other 3? They are The Last Promise, Requiem, and Corrupt Theocracy: some of the earliest completed FE fanmade romhacks.

Same 7 games as before, different seller

For those unaware, only two English FE GBA games were ever released. Two of the games here, Binding/Sword of Seals are both fan translations of a JP-only FE title. The exact same title. (Sword of Seals was an earlier translation for what officially got localized as Binding Blade)

The particular community I’m involved in (Fire Emblem GBA romhacking) has kind of a funny involvement in this because we’ve had to deal with the weirdly widespread thing of these particular 7 cartridges all being sold as “English Fire Emblem GBA” games.

I don’t know how I forgot about this until now but for GBA at least, there’s enough of a market that there’s tons of bootlegs and cart mods out in the wild.

Form factor/portability/etc. make sense to me as reasons for why someone would want a handheld console, but there’s a million better options than this thing

The article says the shell is made from the same alloy they use in their attack drones, but they also covered it with a ceramic polymer that they also use in their drones.

Yeah if anything they should be calling it mother 3-inspired because that game actually is about grief and loss <- totally not missing the point
