The House Freedom Caucus today endorsed Trump invoking the Insurrection Act.

How is this not bigger news everywhere?

Trumps wants it. And they’re backing him on it.

One step closer.

Wake up, America.🚨🇺🇸

Look for the helpers. Especially when times are darkest.

Until we have one, our electeds of all parties (and none), everyone near them, our politics, our democracy, and all Americans will be less safe.

And our enemies will be celebrating.🚨🇺🇸

Not only is Trump stoking it daily, he and all of Congress are also failing to provide a strategy and resources to meet it.

We need a national plan to protect all electeds from violence as we push deeper into a perilous new normal. It should be a priority element of our national defense plan.

The U.S. Capitol Police told NPR last year that its agents were on track to work through roughly 14,000 threat assessment cases by the end of 2025.

It’s much bigger than politics. As I’ve recommend for many months, it should be a national security priority.

But it’s not.
