Like EGS is poor, It being linked to Tim Sweeny just makes it overall worst.

Like Tim's hate boner for Steam + his love for AI make the extra 18% that Steam takes over EGS all the better. At least the very few times Gabe talks he isn't putting down other stores and is usually fairly competent.

When I eventually get off my ass and start releasing games, I really do wanna my games accessible. That being said, It is very difficult to publish a game on Epic in good faith when this is the CEO.

I also brought this up when I was first trying out the two, But GitHub does still feel like it is more "community" centric than GitLab. But that is also a double edged sword... I'm just glad I can auto mirror.

Like this ability alone is the reason at least my solo tinkering projects are hosted on GitLab.. I know they have like a 10GB cap which might cause problems in the future, And then I might switch back to GitHub for big projects.

But still..

Does anyone know if this feature is on other Git hosts? I feel like GitLab and maybe Codeberg (I can't remember but I feel like I saw it there) have it.

I'll just take the good, 3rd option and wait for Hytale to release the official in house one. Even if it takes a year or two.

I use Startpage which doesn't have the AI overview, but I do know that at the very least Overwolf pops up in thunderstore privacy policy.

I also don't think overwolf made the mod manager, the Thunderstore team just forked r2modman and integrated Overwolf.

Thunderstore is unfortunately still owned by overwolf.

It's not about learning, I can program in Java just fine. I just hate it.

Not that Java is bad by any means, just an ass to setup.
I have more luck compiling C code then I do setting up a Java dev environment.

That being said though, pretty sure it will be using Java for modding. Which isn't something I'm against learning, I just hate Java with a burning passion.

Definitely excited to try creating stuff on Hytale, shame they had to go with CurseForge for their partners. But we roll with the punches.

Eventually I do wanna go full local, and even setup like a Jellyfin. But I listen to way too many genres & artists for me to practically set that up at the moment. Plus I lack the hardware, though I could maybe just gut an old laptop.
