Both Mikes were at the Mornington Peninsula's Portsea today. Mr D couldn't resist an opportunity to reshape the 3rd green's surrounds.

This is shameful. The R&A say they want to keep the Old Course challenging for elite players but nothing about their total failure to regulate equipment. Apparently they are happy to mess with the ultimate golfing monument but not with the sensitivities of the equipment companies. Disgraceful πŸ™ˆ πŸ‘‡

Maybe we add a new tee for 14 to the left of 13 green and make something like the famous Dell Hole at Lahinch. The preview play showed us the tees were likely to be a little small.

A serious storm blew through Northern France last night causing some damage including my hotel window which bit the dust. This morning's walk at Golf de Fontainebleau took place whilst the course team was in the middle of cleaning up. Proper 3 club wind.

Course walk at The Addington today. The hill to the left of the 8th was scraped and brashed last year. Heather is already emerging. @ivgd1.bsky.social is happy.

While it makes perfect sense for Rory to not carry a driver this week, it is hard not to feel this is just one more example of how golf at the elite level has lost its way. Most blame, of course, is owned by the USGA and the R&A for their collective incompetence in the technology department πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
