Hate it. It's always the same song and dance too "oh no my hobby is dying" but god forbid someone show up and take an interest who doesn't fit their expectations regarding who should be doing said hobby

I swear he was more offended by the fact that I provide context for my opinion by saying I didn't have a ton of experience as more than half of the other comments echoed my suggestion that OP start with something a little better.

To which he effectively responded "Skill Issue" now I am certainly not an expert on scribing, but it is much easier to learn if you aren't fighting with your tools, I am still wondering why asshat was determined to have OP suffer just because he had to learn to scribe with a dull rusty nail. 3/3

a 3rd party response to tell me I shouldn't be providing advice if I didn't scribe my kits and that the crappy tools were fine. I explained I had used said tools until one broke and replaced them with better ones which lead to an immediate improvement to my work... 2/x

Got in an argument on FB (Yes I know what my first mistake was) where someone had asked if a particular set of chisels was good for scribing. I respond to OP to say I hadn't done a lot but the ones they chose we're kind of crappy and they would probably be better of buy a slightly better set 1/x

Things I have been doing to keep me from completely falling apart have been building these little model Gundams.

I was super into Gundam Wing as a teen. It has been nice to have something to focus on.

Gundam Epyon and the Tallgeese I. Some of my favorite OZ Mobile Suits.

The head and shield from the Monument [Repair Type] 3rd party Tallgeese kit. Both are primarily white and grey but the shield has yellow accents including the warheads of missiles loaded into pods around the edge and blue "lenses" and the helmet has a red crest and a blue "visor"

And I'm done with painting this kit! Still need to paint the base, but that shouldn't be too difficult, hell I bought an airbrush with a fan cap so I don't have to brave the humidity to paint it with rattlecans. I'm more worried about how the decals will look over the shading.

I was so excited to see Casual Geographic wrote a book! So I had to buy it immediately. I love his videos on Youtube (he's also on TikTok as @MNdiaye_97)

The head from the 1/60 scale Monument [Repair Type] (3rd party Tallgeese) parts of the armor are removed to expose the painted detail on the inner frame.

Pre-work hobby time. Sometimes I paint stuff that no one will see again once its finished (adding the silver over the gunmetal on the inner frame)

Started painting up the smallgeese today. Black prime, then neutral grey and white over that all with the airbrush then an oil wash, so now I need to wait for it to finish drying before I move on.

Finally after a year I finished up my half of the Tyranid Attack board game you can get at Barnes and Noble! We’ve been running this as the KT 3.0 base set with some adjustments to great success.

I kind of think thats why its this colour to look like a resin kit, but no I did not print it. I couldn't actually find any small Tallgeese STLs that I liked. All too chunky, this is kind of leaning in the other direction, but is definitely hitting the right notes.

It's the Gundam Artifact version of the Tallgeese, it's about 60mm tall and the parts are absolutely tiny

P-bandai delivery today, I now have enough odd Leo variants for a quirky mini boss squad

A Gundam Artifact model of the Tallgeese from Gundam Wing. Its between 50 and 60mm tall and made out of a yellow ish ABS plastic.

And the Smallgeese is finished. Final assembly was no less fiddly than the rest. I had been hoping to leave the side skirts loose to aid with painting, but nope, they had to be glued.
