Oh yeah, don't get me wrong. Aerial's design is top-notch, but some variety beyond the HG line would be nice! Hard to complain *too* much though when the HGWFM kits are so good.

You'll love it! In hindsight I should have done at least some color correction to give it a little more visual variety and depth, but it's still a really nice build OOB.

Agreed! I really hope they make an MG or RG of this. I already have 3 Aerials (with the MGSD coming at some point), so I'm kinda done with that MS... which means their next one will definitely be an Aerial. 😂

Originally, I was going to pose her with a beam saber, but Delpi went all-out on the shield’s water slides, so I wanted to make sure to get that in the shot.

Awesome kit. Might be my favorite so far that I’ve built from the anime.

We’ve really cut down on our subs. As an 80s kid, not owning anything and constantly paying increasingly expensive monthly costs just to “rent” the things I love hit its tipping point this year. I’m really enjoying being selective about my physical purchases, and it also reminds me of simpler times.

Yep, I could get it to turn on and cycle, but as soon as I so much as touched the model again to pose it, it would shut off. 🙃

Yeah, it’s more the janky mechanism to activate it that seems over-engineered to the point of being barely functional. A simple button with a small access port would have sufficed! The beam saber switch is very good though.

Whoever wrote that knows what they’re talking about. 😂

PGU 1/60 RX-78-2 Gundam with all hatches open (Tamiya black panel accent, Delpi water slide decals, Krylon 1311 matte topcoat)

Here’s one more pic of the PGU RX-78-2 with all of its hatches open. Had some nice sunlight coming through the windows earlier, so I just used that mostly.

Completely frustrated with the included LED unit though. Can’t get it to work reliably due to the finicky mechanism. Oh well! 🤷‍♂️

Yeah, I really noticed how much I missed 3D on Switch with the Sega 3D Classics series from M2. All of those were so good (technical marvels in many cases), even the Genesis games I’d bought/played so many times previously.

OK, catching my stride now and doing better with the legs. Using a combo of Tamiya black panel accent and Micron pens for pretty good results.

I really enjoyed this part of the build, and even my wife admits these are some sexy legs. 😊

Anyway, got the body and right arm done today. This is bringing back all of my earliest Gunpla memories of putting together the Schwarzette and Lfrith, which I loved. ❤️

Yep, totally get that. I kinda like the actual base unit build more than the NES, but the NES as a whole is just a really special set. The 2600 was our first home console when I was a kid, so yeah, the nostalgia factor is strong! I’m in the minority though in that I actually enjoy the E.T. game. 😂

Yes! That NES set is an all-timer. I bought the little Mario figure too so that I could have the sounds play with the “animation”. Sadly, I just don’t have the space to display it right now, so it has to wait patiently in a dresser drawer until I do… same with the Atari 2600 set! 😅

Thanks for the tip! I don’t dislike stickers since I’ve had to deal with them all my life, especially with Lego sets, but I’ll be curious to see what these are like. I’ve not heard great things. 😂

They are separate from the cartridges and slide in behind the plastic screen, held in there by a hinged piece. It’s pretty cool how it works. The carts are also designed to be accurate to the originals, down to the circuit board and chip locations. The Zelda one even has a battery piece!

Dang, 1/144 is insane to drop down to after 1/60, but I’m enjoying the challenges, mostly to my eyesight. 😂

Miyoo Mini+ retro handheld running Tetris GB

While I do most classic gaming on PC/Steam Deck and Switch, I will sometimes use my trusty little Miyoo Mini+ for short sessions. It’s bigger than the original Miyoo Mini, but still just a bit too small for extended play sessions. Great little device though!
