Rowton's Curse:

Anyone could have done what Albert was doing, if they had only thought of it. And they would have, if they obsessed like he had, thrown their lives away for it. Something even Kullthins feared. They would kill each other for this. #fantasy #scotwriterpitch2025

Rowton’s Curse:
Nothing is sacred, not any more. They are higher predators, nature has decided the rest. That we should not have provoked them is beyond obvious, it is an unsayable fact that sticks forever in my throat, like I swallowed a coathanger. #fantasy #scotwriterpitch2025

Rowton’s Curse:
The lowlands were mostly spared the shadow of man, since Albert's culture had been unearthed and everything had gone to hell. Some remained, and darkened the boards of trenches. Strange magnesium shadows of those that still stood. #fantasy #scotwriterpitch2025

Rowton’s Curse:
Why I follow him I'm not sure. Maybe because he has a plan, and I definitely don't. What he did to Shane, what we did. He never walked properly after, with the thing in his veins. In his mind. Now death is coming, I hope he has planned for it #fantasy #scotwriterpitch2025

Rowton’s Curse:
And still we bicker. Petty, hateful, and careless of the busy quiet. Downwind, non-human ears twitch with our argument, non-human mouths purse. They know us as only so much goose-flesh, altogether defenceless, with no idea of what is to come. #fantasy #scotwriterpitch2025

Rowton's Curse:

No one understood what Albert Rowton was doing. Not one of them knew bacterial husbandry as the single most powerful force in this world, though they fed the culture in their guts, gave their dead back to it.

Still, they would know soon enough. #fantasy #scotwriterpitch2025
