Can you imagine being the Pres & VP and then having the House elect him speaker? They'd have to know they'd be targets. But he'd still be ineligible to be VP. Maybe skip to next in line.

The 12th amendment talks about the election of the vice-president, "But no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States."

My paternal great grandmother died in the 1918 flu pandemic along with an infant. The remaining children including my grandpa were raised on a sort of orphan ranch in Montana. Their father saw them every few weeks when he came back in from the range.
