DHS top lawyer says 'no legal barrier' to actions officers can take to defend federal property In a memo obtained exclusively by The Handbasket, Federal Protective Service (FPS) officers were given free rein.

EXCLUSIVE — DHS Acting General Counsel sent out a memo Wednesday to all Federal Protective Service staff (the sub-agency that guards federal buildings) letting officers know they could take any action necessary "in the vicinity" federal property to protect themselves.

On the 18th we need to be vigilant for increased violence and provocation by both law enforcement and counter-protestors, both of which will be used to try to justify more violence and authoritarianism.

You're right about Platner. He seemingly fits the pattern I laid out, but the things he's saying probably make their donors nervous since he isn't a centrist, or at best a moderate liberal, and he clearly wasn't hand picked by the party to run.

He's probably told the story so much that he believes that the made up version is true.

I've noticed the opposing team's fans only cheer when the opponents score on us. To win those fans over, I recommend we score on ourselves repeatedly; that will surely make them so happy they'll start supporting us. And I'm sure all our fans will keep cheering for us—who else is there to cheer for?

ICE and CBP seem quite dedicated to being remembered as this generation’s Alabama state troopers of the 50s and 60s.

In places they consider red areas that's for sure their thinking. They ask themselves "What do these redneck morons say they like?" and then consultants say "I know, we'll run a veteran (any of those other people you listed)! Give me millions of dollars now please!" and call it a day.

They gave it to Obama before he even did anything. Which was still a bad choice, and you could tell during his speech that he was disconcerted about it since he knew as president he'd be doing a bunch of things that would likely make him ineligible.

He basically got the award as a slight to W.

We poke fun at the administration’s ridiculous lies about Portland but in Chicago, things are a lot more serious. Illinois state troopers and ICE goons attacking citizens using their First Amendment rights should shock the conscience of every American.

This is good @govpritzker.illinois.gov but what you really need to do is refuse to let Illinois state troopers assist ICE in suppressing constitutional dissent.

Everybody who pushed Democrats to be more aggressive after the insurrection was right. Listen to them next time (if there is a next time).

There will be those who will once again council empty reconciliation with Republicans, on the grounds that “we need to be better than them.”

But here’s the thing: we ARE better than them. Much better than them. Everyone is far far far better than them. That’s why they all need to go to prison.

When prices were going up under Biden there was a constant deluge of news stories about it because the media did not like Biden and wanted him to lose. Under Trump there is not a constant deluge of news stories about coffee prices because they like Trump and want him to win
