Trump still won’t release the full Epstein files...despite bipartisan pressure from Rep. Thomas Massie...Ro Khanna...MTG & others. Speaker Johnson blocked a House vote before recess...saying “trust us.” But with 89% of Americans demanding transparency..that excuse won’t fly. #ReleaseTheFiles

He did and deserves credit for it....with one caveat: National debt still existed. A surplus doesn’t mean the U.S. was debt-free...it means annual revenues exceeded spending.

I say this, for those who confuse "balancing the budget" with ending the national deficit...and there are a lot of them.

Distraction Desperation and Guilt

So Trump and his fascists continue to purposefully alienate visible minorities in the US.

Rep Thomas Massie on a podcast 3 weeks ago, suggesting that neither party…including his…is ever really serious about balancing the budget, and then states what they’re actually concerned about.

This is the biggest distraction yet.

I've been fortunate enough to connect personally with several amazing folks at @steadystatevets.bsky.social . These aren't just random contacts...they're dedicated patriots who've taken an oath to protect democracy...and they're actively standing up for it right now.

American neighbours, you need to do what you need to do to impeach and remove your corrupt leader. Make your reps understand that this is their only option. So heartbreaking to see what was once the pinnacle of democracy be so paralyzed in the face of fascism.

Pardoning Maxwell could indeed ignite fury within the MAGA base...especially among those who've staked their identity on opposing elite corruption.

But Trump’s calculation may be that their anger is temporary and that loyalty to him ultimately overrides their outrage. It's a risky bet...but given his track record...one he might seriously consider.

You're making a great point...pardoning Maxwell might seem like it would free her to speak openly. But in practice...a pardon can come with conditions or implicit pressures.

Often...pardons serve as unspoken deals...offering freedom in exchange for silence.
