Oh that was what the fuss over the German tourist was all about. I'll be staying for less than a week so no doubts on that!

Concerned about entry too. I've read a news report about changes in border regulations that are largely unannounced, which makes it difficult to make a sound assessment of international travel risks and prepare for them.

I didnt even know there was an announcement up - thanks for flagging and for highlighting important local context - I'll integrate it in the talk. I see you also work in housing - if the trip pushes through and if you happen to be in the area it would be great to connect!

Just finished all 3 seasons of Somebody Somewhere on Max. Such a sincere, empathetic, and sometimes delightfully irreverent exploration of humanity. Bridget Everett was brilliant as the main protagonist. Absolutely deserves its Peabody.

Are there any Global South academics out there rethinking travel plans the US?

Supposed to deliver a lecture in OR this May. Some news reports about travel are unsettling. Getting mixed advice on how un/stable things might be by then.

There are countless phenomenal women to look up to, to be in solidarity with, to be valued as competent colleagues, and to be cherished as caring loved ones or as loyal friends.
To be heard & celebrated all year round, not just today. That is the dream.

Universal healthcare isnโ€™t just a pipe dream folks. Early human societies thrived by sharing resources and caring for the sick to ensure collective survival. Itโ€™s already in your code!

Itโ€™s so hard to find friends who relate to CEO problems. Letโ€™s talk about how challenging it is to be a CEO and then letโ€™s plan a meetup to bond. Maybe on a boat so we can see whaley whales, just look at some orcas

Thou shalt not steal. That includes taking from the poor and giving it to the rich.

Suggested reading to grasp why (disaster) prevention policy continually fails to take off.
One cause: policy environment is too complex so policymakers choose the *appearance of success* vs addressing root causes.
Sounds familiar 'no?
