newpipe on my phone helped me out of the youtube addiction I had. Yet it allows me to enjoy videos (you can also download vids or convert to audio, all without leaving the app)
For the TV, you could buy a raspberry pi and have a computer savy guy set up a pi-hole as a dns server for your home net.
