So we are sold something to make us feel like an adult but keep us trapped in the childhood ignorance disguised as innocence.

A rigid ideal created by a select few that people choose to align themselves to because they are led to think they have to. If your choice is to be powerless, that works.

Who is selling us the images of adulthood we have to adhere to? Why do we yearn for days scrubbed of misery, when we're also sold misery as a means to buy a miracle fix?

We can feel power in our sphere of control, but creating the illusion that sphere is so big we are powerless does sell.

Maybe something else to ponder is the rampant capitalist-fueled consumerism that wishes to sell us our nostalgia for a time when we weren't aware of danger.

Its well-known nostalgia is a powerful selling force, but is it simultaneously reinforcing these ideas that media has to match our adulthood?

As Lewis said, growing up is discarding the things that make us childish, including the desire to appear grown-up.

Maybe we can stop wanting our childhood games and stories to be grown-up to match our adult appearance.

We can make the media change with the times, but our human perspective changes vs the media's inherent immutability.

Thus, do we force media to become what we want, or do we accept what it is and find a new way to appreciate it, while finding something new to adapt to our current perspective?

Steven Universe touches on this with the Human vs Gem differences - Gems don't grow, per se. They don't inherently change over time. Humans do.

We grow from babies to children to teens to adults, and our perspective changes every step of the way.

Media is like the Gems.

CS Lewis said something similar about fairy tales, but to me, an aspect of growing up means looking at the stories and games you played as a child, and acknowledging that they are for children while still enjoying them.

Games don't need to grow up with you, you can still love them for what they are

Not ?, I'm dumb!!!
@tempestrio89.bsky.social did the colors, thanks again for collaborating!!!

Tempest wears Leo's super suit while Leo wears Tempest's old suit. Leo is excited to show off, having not worn a wetsuit based supersuit before, while Tempest leans back on the counter, coffee in hand, smirking at the young hero's uncrushed spirit.

Little collaboration between ? and I! I did the linework and they did the colors!

It's nice when a new generation of heroes expresses interest in a retired one's work. Exchanging suits is just a fun way to share that enthusiasm!

Almost like this is a repeated social media loop or something.

Companies deserve critique for their products, but man, indirectly telling consumers that don't share your opinion is a great way to come off as hateful and unpleasant.

Wake up guys, [popular franchise] had an entry that is not at high standards said franchise can achieve by a not close margin!

Call it "dogshit" and say the company is the actual worst and try to "promote" a competitor to REPLACE it!

I wasn't ready to watch without sound and think "damn these guys dancing is fire, whats the beat I won't recognize" and then actually hear a classical piece and now I have even more mad respect.

Tl;dr:
GenAI has some serious issues that make it comparable to mass-produced food products, and their hypebeasts are like an advertisement telling me its amazing compared to real deal work.

GenAI is a toy, I'n sure it could be used well, but I'm so sick of Swanson Grandma trying to tell me that Swanson Brand Chicken Broth ™️ is just as good if not better than my actual grandmother's broth she made to feed people in the Great Depression out of love for her fellow man.

Catch my drift?

Like cool man glad your corporate chicken broth with "natural flavors" suits you. I'm still gonna put a chicken in a pot of water and make it myself.

Like my actual grandma did.

Like, Swanson ran ads where two grandmas were sharing recipes and one tried it and was like "why doesn't this taste good" and the other was like "oh its because you didn't use Swanson Brand Chicken Broth™️"

GenAI is great for generating lots and lots of stuff that passes the sniff test for most people because those people never cared about the work in the first place. They like the status that comes with it, like showing off a brand they spent money on.

3) The results are uncanny. Like those extremely ultra hi-def videos they play on TVs at the store that are a million frames per second. Nobody tosses their strawberries into flowing water like that - and even if they did our eyes don't perceive that. movies and TV don't run that way. GenAI does.

17.10.2025 15:42 — 👍 0    🔁 0    💬 1    📌 0

2) Image genAI made things that were impressive... if you weren't looking at it for meaning. Memes, food porn, literal pervertbait, it does those great. copying styles its great at because its just advanced collage.

17.10.2025 15:42 — 👍 0    🔁 0    💬 1    📌 0

idk man, I tried genAI before it was capitalized. Wasn't satisfied with the results.

1) Text genAI absolutely refuses to hold context. It could write a sentence! But its cohesiveness sucked ass. Great for rotting a brain.

Man.
I really liked the cast of characters from Scarlet and Violet.

Portraits of the characters in a Mega Man X based one shot we did! Quake Badger (top center) was our enemy Maverick, while Slide Axolotl, Shift Leopard, Yew Squirrel, and Surf Orca made up the Maverick Hunting team!

The phrase "kill the cop in your head" refers to you needing to eliminate the person telling you the right and wrongs of others in regards to minorities (LGBTQ+, PoC).

Kill the Hellfire and Brimstone preacher in your head. It does wonders for inner peace.

We are hurting. We've lost our way, but we are working to find it again.

Many of us have been taught from experience that once we fall down a path of evil there is no forgiveness or redemption, even for minor "sins". It is a poison against compassion and humility.

I know the gut reaction is that they aren't wise or unbroken or whatever

Iroh wasn't unbroken, his wisdom and compassion cane from failure and losing his way. He was a Fire Nation Prince and General who lost his son and had to grow from his grief and have that watershed of how he was doing wrong.

Been binging AtLA videos lately, and seeing comments of "I wish I had an Uncle Iroh in my life" makes me wonder

Why can't *you* be the Iroh others need?
