I love singing and often do, but I don’t have an original bone in my body when it comes to phrasing, so I just faithfully follow the phrasing of Ella or Janis or Kate--I’m just not an innate musician.

There are some awesome how-to vids by real experts in crafts, building, etc that are just there to teach. They ooze knowhow (not mugging). Sadly, that’s about 2% of the vid universe now.

It’s a weird, twisted form of quietism. I’m hard left, non-American, not thrilled with US Democratic party, etc etc etc but I still find that attitude baffling. No one wants to do a damn thing, so scapegoats definitely needed to absolve oneself.

💯 The disconnect between what (most) elected leaders do in Parliament or Congress or what-have-you and what the media reports they’re doing is enormous. Most people have no idea what the day-to-day of a Parliamentarian/Congressperson looks like.

Hint: It ain’t idle. And EVERYTHING is a mountain.

My favourite books—the ones I get lost in but that also impress the fock out of me—are those making it hyper clear the author reads across *eras* and *cultures*. I want to see massive vocabs that aren’t afraid of archaisms, regionalisms and superb poetry craft. No mass-market beige here. Slurp.

Most authors with vile views aren’t billionaire oligarchs literally shaping government policy with her money from sales in order to demonize, oppress and harm a marginalized group, with bonus blowback against any cis woman who doesn’t look “woman” enough if she wants to pee. 🤷‍♀️
