Hahah I didn't read it that way! Memories are good things to have and the contrasts can be instructive. My own belief is always that there's a new crop of 15 year olds (or thereabouts) wanting to know more and dig deeper and will find the routes as they can.

There are many rumors going around about a large operation targeting Haitians in Springfield whose TPS is going to be stripped from them next week; we do not know if they are true, but the community is preparing nonetheless.

Notably, expect court decisions ASAP in pending cases to save TPS.

The phrase "Gotcha Doomerism" has been coined by @kibblesmith.com and it's perfect for describing people who otherwise share my politics.

They believe they've already gamed out every possible reason something won't work politically. And it's almost always because they're stuck in 1990s centrism.

This is what they are capable of. They cannot conquer a continent-spanning country of 340+ million people. They cannot even control a midsized city. But they can go into specific midsized-to-small cities and inflict maximum terror upon their populations.
