Years ago our admin did a red and black report. It took salaries & how much $ each instructor made in tuition $ for classes we taught-you were in the red or black. They released numbers once & shut it down bc humanities were producing huge $ for uni & engineers, business and scientists were losing $

Taking L after L in the studio is really getting to me, so I went through the car wash to reset

This is actually the best summary of Stoner by John Williams I could find online, for a book that unexpectedly devastated me but I enjoyed it the whole time

The one line movie zingers on Letterboxd are more tolerable than the droning, endless β€œreviews” of books on goodreads that can’t do anything beyond summarizing the plot. I keep finishing monumental books and looking for reviews that put how I’m feeling into words but keep finding only synopses

Worse yet is knowing that the sting in my eyes is just the onion trying (and failing) to defend itself

I shovelled snow for 90 minutes and took a walk around the block and everything I shovelled away was filled in with fresh snow. My brain can barely comprehend what it’s seeing with how much of it is coming down all at once

OPINION | Canadian TV needs to get weird again | CBC Arts In the β€˜80s and β€˜90s, English Canadian screens were filled with bizarre, fever dream-like shows. Writer Niko Stratis argues that we need to back to that

For CBC Arts, I wrote about why I think Canada needs to revel in the beauty of its weirdest impulses www.cbc.ca/arts/canadia...

The most selfish, warmongery people alive on the planet getting together in a group and calling it the β€œboard of peace” is just how stupid things are now. Trump at this point may as well assemble himself, Bill Cosby, and Harvey Weinstein into a club and call it β€œthe cabinet of consent”

Libby needs to start allowing reviews of titles at the library because this year I’ve already started and finished one and a half audiobooks and I have opinions about them and nowhere to share them

I talk directly with an extraordinarily high number of visual artists for my job and I wish I could tell them and all artists that EVERYONE is having a bad time right now, no one is selling anything, it’s not personal it’s just the market

One of the unexpected things I discovered after breaking my most recent (very expensive) pair of glasses this week, and temporarily wearing my 9 year old (very expensive) glasses while waiting for my new (very expensive) glasses is that absolutely no one can notice the difference between them
