Feels like Twitch starting to do this really flew under the radar, I certainly didn't realize. Because yeah like you said we're already giving more than enough information to verify our identity.

When you had mentioned this a few days ago I went digging a bit to try and see how long this has been the case. Saw that Twitch references this currently in their "First Payout Walkthrough" help.twitch.tv/s/article/yo...

And I see reddit posts mentioning Persona and Twitch from 2-3 years ago :/

I've already given Twitch more than enough info to verify my identity independently, (e.g. they have my business registration info, among a ton of other info), so this is insulting, on top of being a massive invasion of privacy and huge risk of identity theft. 3/4

I don't know how many people are being required to do this, but it's gross that Twitch has any connection to Persona, let alone requiring new Affiliates to give themselves over to mass surveillance. In case it's relevant, I'm Canadian, and Persona and Twitch are U.S. companies. 2/4

Twitch is requiring new Affiliates, before their first payment, to give government photo ID and a separate photo to Persona, the same Persona that has connections to government mass surveillance programs. When I asked Twitch support for another option, they said there isn't one. #twitch #persona 1/4
