They can continue the war with JD. (The war is bad and stupid, to be clear.) But the urgent alarm and potentially existential issue I’m flagging is not the war, it is having Trump in charge of it now that another superpower is involved against us

This is serious and sacred stuff. This isn’t partisan or even political. He is out of his mind, he is irrational, he is vengeful and splenetic and delirious, and he controls the most destructive power assembled in human history — which, critically, he has successfully mechanized into *war* currently

If the president has been diagnosed with any serious illness, as he seems to be genuinely seriously ill — this is not flip or snarky or chicken-little stuff here — a wide circle of people need to know that

If cabinet officials and GOP leadership are not genuinely alarmed and terrified at Trump’s behavior over the last month — which appears to have fallen off a cognitive cliff in the context of a major war he started for no reason — it might be too late when they do become alarmed and terrified

The President of the United States is incapable of parsing the difference between two opposite concepts, and those concepts happen to be war & peace. And he resolves this by going with the most primitive, violent option. If Russia is really involved in Iran now, he cannot be the president anymore.

I'll also note that we still appear to be missing a ton of pages from this woman's file. There were at least *53 pages* missing (that we know about) and we still don't seem to have all of them — specifically the FBI's contemporaneous notes for these interviews

This is DOUBLY important because we know there are also agent notes associated with the first three interviews (because they were provided to Maxwell for trial), but we don't know if there are notes associated with the fourth interview — we know no notes given. What did agents write in those notes?

That's important—this is 2019. The Mueller report 6 months earlier said Mueller per OLC guidance can investigate a sitting president but can't contemplate charges. In interview 4, the agents don't say if they corrected her when she incorrectly assumed there's a statute of limitations on her claims

Quick note: I'm traveling through Saturday, but I've read the FBI interviews with the woman who accused Trump of sexually assaulting her when she was a child. Significant redactions (and redacted dates for some reason?) and these aren't original FBI case files. We don't know what else is in her file

We know the FBI wanted her to cooperate on the investigation and she refused. Does the FBI want people to cooperate on unsubstantiated/non-credible claims or claims that have no chance of being proven?

Yeah but “AFAWKSF” we don’t know if they’re unsubstantiated! We do know that the other Trump allegations were deemed unsubstantiated. Not hers.

The victim didn’t want to cooperate with the FBI on the investigation. That’s not a cover-up. You can’t risk her safety against her will for a possible political W, and she had reported threats. The cover-up is this DOJ withholding information in defiance of the law

Not trying to dunk on Kyle, but I need to reinforce that we don’t know if these allegations were substantiated! While the first tip was on the same sheet as the unsubstantiated claims, FBI noted why the others weren’t credible. This one, they set up an intvw, then 3 more. And wanted her to cooperate

These are different from the tips released in December — the fbi noted on that document specifically when those weren’t credible or probative etc. This initial tip was also on that document, but the fbi didn’t say any of those things. Instead, they set up an interview with her. Then at least 3 more.

We don’t know if they’re unsubstantiated

Seems natural to hammer White House advisers, State Dept, Pentagon, and intelligence agencies for their accounts of how exactly we wound up in this war so quickly, since they failed to stop it and bear responsibility. They won’t want the stink on them, but they also need to legitimize JD & Rubio
