I consider Mayor Wilson to be an expert. I attended his symposium before the election of experts he has worked with from around the country who have implemented successful programs. Ideas vary even among experts.

I think taxpayers were left out of your survey. I willingly fund homeless services with money that could be in my child’s education account, but I want the money spent wisely and our opinions vary on solutions - but I appreciate the conversation. :)

I actually see a direct link between the wealth divide and homelessness. No one can survive on a minimum wage and I think that is a huge injustice. The corporate purchasing of rental properties and price manipulation is horrific. I want safety, shelter, and food for everyone.

With limited resources I prioritise safety, shelter, and food (and I want that for everyone) over stuff and pets. I want folks to access services for a pathway OUT of homelessness. It is a terrible situation.

Since we are not polling Portlanders, I guess voting is how we know their thinking and they chose Wilson and Vasquez. Still waiting to hear where the funding for social housing would come from. I am not seeing that it can happen so for me it is a dead issue at this time.

Most Portlanders don’t want camping.

Being on the streets means severe instability with no upside potential.

Where is the money for social housing and how has the city proven it’s ability to pull off any project of this scale?? Social housing is not happening and that was the priority of the housing director.
