But of all the bungled pronunciations I've encountered over the years, "Ayarane" sounded the coolest and I decided to pocket it.

As far as I know, although it looks Japanese, I don't think it actually translates to anything. Maybe if broken up, it might?

The "Ayarane" surname's origin is a corruption of my birth surname. In my senior year of high school, we had a Japanese student in my English class who, tried as she could, was unable to pronounce my surname correctly.

(To be fair, most people can't, even today. :P)

Because of the amount of red tape to update official documents (ID, bank, disability benefits), and... current events that would potentially impact my ability to vote, filing name change papers would be a very bad idea now.

It's not a hill I care enough to die on, so I'll leave it be.

I think part of it is also my wanting to ditch my birth name because of the EXTREMELY tired question that come up whenever I give my birthday. ("Are you named that because of 4/1?")

Prior to becoming disabled, I had planned to file the name change paperwork to actually do so.

Honestly, I don't remember the specifics.

I won't deny that Yoshi (as in, the Nintendo character) factored into it at the beginning, but I think by now, the name itself has been attached to me so long that it feels like it's always been there.

I want XIV to steal WoW's "lap cat mode"

in which you target any cat minion and do /sit to make them jump in your lap for a few minutes

with one exception, they are named after Moogles from #XIVExtended:

"Mogbert's Fluff"
"Mogentine's Pom"
"Kupo's Snoot"
"Teach Me, Mogster"

My FFXIV themed entry for the "Dream Sequence" render challenge is finished. While brainstorming for ideas I stumbled upon the Dancing Green raid in FFXIV which features a soundtrack with a BPM of 120 and is also synced to the music. What a fitting fight for this, huh?
Nice challenge, was fun :)
