At the end of the day, the Black Lives Matter era was about whether people should be killed in the street, and lots of people decided yeah and put those little blue flags on their cars. It spread to everyone because it stopped for no one.

Kid and I have been playing a lot of the Blaseball card game. It’s neat, and it’s hilarious how baffled he is by many of the references (why is it raining peanuts?? her last name is telephone??), and it hits a nostalgia sweet spot for me that’s impossible to explain to him.

When I'm missing my Nan, I often think about her hands. Hands that were constantly in mine or in motion. I miss holding her hand just sitting or trying to get her to the food table when everyone wanted to talk to her. I miss holding her hand so much it aches. Here's some braciole.

When you bring this up to your doctor, they will look at you in utter exhaustion and say "I'm not an expert in that, you need to go see a specialist". The specialist either doesn't take your insurance, isn't taking new patients, or is taking new patients but is scheduling five years out.
