A reminder: Picking the numbers 1-2-3-4-5-6 for your ticket is literally, mathematically, just as likely to win as any other set of numbers.
But you'd never pick those numbers because you know they won't win.
Don't waste your money on the lottery.
I absolutely guarantee you the answer is "the dumbest way possible."
Think of the dumbest way to use a large language model to make strategic decisions that you can, and the actual way will be dumber than that.
A pretty clear demonstration here of how the lies told to sell the destruction of the Gaza Strip to the public helped to create the structure of impunity required to destroy as much as possible of other countries too

Yesterday I observed 15 shackled detainees being loaded on the ICE Air flight at MSP. In this clip, as the last one hobbles on, staff put away a full-body WRAP restraint, which had been laid out next to the airstairs.

One negative review describes "Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die" as Terminator 2: Groundhog Day, and yeah, that kind of sums it up. It's an unoriginal Black Mirror knockoff with big Gen X self-important dude asshole energy.
"Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die" is a movie that's so bad, it's bad. It has some moments, but it's clearly trying to pull together a bunch of tropes for a cliche old-man-yells-at-cloud moral and I really wish I hadn't spent money on it. Give it a pass.
It makes sense if your objective is not conquest but genocide.

When I talk to LLMs, I find myself preferring short answers. I'll add "Just give me the list without explanation" or "One sentence answer" at the end of my prompt. Do other people do this? Do you prefer conversational answers? Do you read the answer or have it spoken to you?

Does anyone else ever get "phantom laptop DVD drive syndrome"?
I tried dragging the rotation box, but it ends up looking the same.
I'm making the slides for my talk for PyTexas2026 (April 17 to 19 in Austin, tickets now available at www.pytexas.org/2026/ )
Can anyone tell me how to rotate a circle in google sheets?

I recently re-read A Confederacy of Dunces for the first time since high school, and wow it's an incredible book and really ahead of its time. But, yeah, the whole "lol the joke is that he is fat and unattractive" does detract.
There should be some grand unifying theory of change timelines, because it was all standard for me: ten minutes to do the actual change, two weeks of bumpiness, and then after that it was just a habit.
When I switched from Google to DuckDuckGo, from Chrome to Firefox, and from Windows to macOS, from MS Office to LibreOffice, I had the same thought: "That was a lot easier and quicker to get used to than I thought."
The thing I never liked about xkcd.com/1205/ "Is It Worth The Time?" is that it doesn't consider the fact that the time you spend automating a task is time spent practicing programming and getting better at programming. As devs lean on LLMs to code for them, we're going to learn this the hard way.
My gasts! They've been flabbered!
I have a lot of these "teaching people to code" tips in this handbook I made for the MADE (Oakland's video game museum): inventwithscratch.com/Scratch_Clas...
One thing I stressed to people teaching others how to code is that you should NEVER put your hands on their keyboard and mouse. Have them do everything, because if you do it, they won't learn anything.
Anyway, so on the topic of agentic AI coding tools...
this war has already wiped out the stated gains from what DOGE did last year lol
If someone says they believe in God, they might be okay or they might be not okay. If they start talking about the Devil and Armageddon, they are ALWAYS batshit crazy.
As someone who always uses and links people to the Death Generator, this is a very good idea, unfortunately.
