If you don’t believe in gay marriage because of your religious beliefs, then don’t marry someone from the same sex, if you don’t believe in assisted dying to relieve end of life suffering, then don’t have it. People don’t have to suffer unnecessarily because of your beliefs

I’m so honoured to have contributed to ‘What I Believe,’ Humanist Ideas and Philosophies To Live By, edited by Andrew Copson. I’m in great company,with fascinating chapters by Stephen Fry, Tim Minchin, Joan Bakewell, A.C.Grayling, Sandi Toksvig, Alf Dubs and many others.

Best advice I ever received on being a working class actor, came from the great Wendell Pierce. ‘Don’t seek to not be defined as a working class actor, rather, change their definition of what it means to be a working class actor.

Danish physicist Niels Bohr said ‘for every great truth, the opposite is also true and for every simple truth, the opposite is always false.
The problem with social media, is people demand that you adhere to their simple truth and ignore the paradox that lies within the heart of the greater truth.

Best advice I ever received as an actor… strive to have an ordinary life and an extraordinary career.
