When publishers push AI “reading assistants” message is clear: don’t bother reading. On top of don't-bother-writing attitude I see in reviewed papers, my feeling is that we are losing the very essence of #science.

Not believing democracy can slip into autocracy is exactly what allows it to happen. Americans saw Trump’s admiration for Putin’s grip on power, but dismissed the possibility it could take root here. That disbelief is what leaves the country just a breath away from losing democratic freedoms.
