The Senate just passed the biggest housing bill in 30 years with a huge bipartisan majority.

House Republicans should immediately take up this bill and pass it. If they do not, they will have to explain to American families why they refuse to lower the cost of housing.

Several large, mature pine trees with thick, dark, textured bark dominate the foreground and middle ground. Their crowns extend upwards, allowing sunlight to filter through the branches.
The forest is well-lit by late afternoon sunlight, which creates a warm, atmosphere. The forest floor is covered in dry, brown pine needles and scattered rocks.

The trees act not as individuals, but somehow as a collective. Exactly how they do this, we don’t yet know. But what we see is the power of unity. What happens to one happens to us all. We can starve together or feast together.

Several pillars of dust in outer space stretch across the image with impressive detail. There are stars both around and within the pillars. It's the famous Pillars of Creation image, but with even more detail.

The Pillars of Creation from a whole new perspective.

You've likely seen Hubble's famous "Pillars of Creation" image before, but here's an alternative look at it by the James Webb Space Telescope. (1/3)

Celebrating #CatsNoirFriday & Friday the 13th. Can't make any sense of some of the stuff going on in this world. Do know it's windy here. Hope folks have their gates & doors secured. Don't want any beloved pets bolting out. Love you all 💗

A narrow dirt path runs straight through a towering redwood forest, lined on both sides by simple wooden X-frame barriers, with sunlight filtering through the bright green canopy far overhead.

People are often puzzled by Trump’s break from reality on polls. If polls say 60% of people oppose him, he announces 127% support.

This may be because he uses internal polls like this one from Truth Social today.

How is he doing? Your only choice is: “Great!!!”

Big Tech is NOT our friend!

It is OUR DATA they want to manipulate in those data centers. they are not trying to help humanity. they want to exploit humanity more efficiently for the very rich (which includes themselves).

The Secret Police Playbook How DHS reflects historical lessons from dictatorships

New, at Can We Still Govern?: Christian Gläßel and

The key factor is career incentives not ideology. 🧵

black and white photo of workers and dignitaries around a steam shovel on a cold day, a pile of dirt in front of them. interior of the armory during a concert as seen from the stage, performers greeting the huge crowd, balconies have purple lighting along their edge. The steel-arched ceiling extends to the back wall, where the word "ARMORY" is displayed under a large art deco clock.

picture of a residential street in Minneapolis. there is a very large tree (roughly 10m or 35feet long) that fell across it. The tree landed on a white/silver Buick and crushed it. My neighbor is having a very bad Friday the 13th.

the wind in Minneapolis was wicked intense last night

To be loved
By a poet
Is no small thing
My desire
Borders on obsession
My needs
A madness all their own

We are cruel things
Burning away those lies
Which protect your heart
Kindling Compassion
From embers in the darkness
Penning hope
From the ashes
Of who you pretended to be

My grandmother kept this icebox cookie recipe on a faded card for 40 years. The edges turn honey-gold while the centers stay tender—the ultimate 'Sunday smell.' 🍪 There’s so much history in a simple bake. What’s a recipe that’s been in your family forever? #Baking #FamilyRecipes

After 9/11, I watched 100,000 Canadians standing on Parliament Hill at the memorial service singing The Star Spangled Banner.

I will never, ever not love Canada. 🙏🏼❤️
